Term Two

Term Two

Marring have had a jam packed term. We have participated in many fundraisers, one of them being our Dress Like a Farmer Day, where students dressed as a farmer and made a gold coin donation for our drought effected farmers.

Students looked forward to weekly Gymnastic sessions, where they learned a variety of movements and sequences that promoted their physical wellbeing. They enjoyed using different equipment and gave everything a go, well done.

We also investigated our physical world through the study of forces. The students used their scientific knowledge and design skills to create a boat that floated with a variety of materials. They were very enthusiastic when testing their boats.

Marring have engaged in inquiry based mathematical learning through Resolve. As mathematicians the students counted large quantities in Grandma’s Soup and used arrays in Fruit Shop and What’s for Lunch. They developed their skills in using efficient strategies, working together, communicating and explaining their thinking.

As digital citizens the students have learned to log onto school computers and use Google Classroom. They have published their writing and submitted work through this online platform. Students have published information reports about giraffes, elephants and rhinoceroses.

We ended the term with our school Athletics Carnival at Beaton Park. Students enjoyed participating in track and field events. It was wonderful to see students try different sports and activities with a smile on their face.
